Winter Is Coming!

With the coming ski season set to be extremely busy, why not present your clients with a lesser known option and introduce them to their new favorite ski-in, ski-out resort as a result?

The Dolomite Mountains in Italy have a unique beauty, history and culture, and below we expand on why you should be sending your clients to these stunning mountains and more specifically, to HOTEL LA PERLA in the picturesque village of Corvara.

The Director of Hotel La Perla, Nicolo Bagna, has lived in the mountains for many years, 6 of which he has spent with the hotel. He described his perfect winter day at La Perla as: "Joining our guide for the scenic Sella Ronda ski tour where we'll see the most stunning views from the slopes; stopping for lunch in one of the excellent mountain refuges along the ski route; ending the day with a local craft beer at La Perla's Apres Ski party; enjoying a delicious dinner at our gourmet restaurant La Stüa de Michil."

WHY THE DOLOMITES?

WINTER SPORTS

The skiing is exceptional! A true winter wonderland and home to the Dolomiti Superski, this region provides access to 450 lifts and 700 miles of top quality runs all on one ski pass. This includes the Sella Ronda, which is widely regarded as one of the finest ski routes worldwide. Taking in 4 valleys with 17 miles of ski runs, this route can be completed in a day by an experienced skier, with time left to sample some local delicacies for lunch in one of the many excellent refuges along the way.

The Dolomiti Superski also accepts the "Ikon Pass", which provides serious skiers with access to many of the very best slopes around the world.

GASTRONOMY

The region is blessed with world class gourmet dining and boasts the highest density of Michelin star chefs in Italy, earning it the nickname "Foody Valley”. Guests are certainly spoiled for fine dining choices in the Dolomites, but that does not mean they should miss out on the charming mountain "refuges" or restaurants where hearty traditional fare is served, including local Ladin dishes such as Canederli and Kaiserschmarren.

CULTURE

The Alpine villages such as Corvara are not just tourist destinations but thriving communities, each with a distinct culture, rich history and local cuisine. While there is a strong Italian and German influence in the region, the most prominent culture is the Ladin culture, which comes from the region's original inhabitants. The ancient Ladin language is still spoken today by 30,000 residents and the unique Ladin traditions play a big role in the Hotel La Perla experience.
