Introducing our NEW Property in Italy

We are thrilled and honored to introduce you to the newest addition to our Waterstone CollectionPalazzo di Varignana located in the famous and scenic hills outside of Bologna.

With ancient roots and an authentic Italian heart, PALAZZO DI VARIGNANA is a place where nature, well-being and cuisine come together to offer a new concept of hospitality. This charming 18th century property sits among the rolling hills of Italy’s beautiful Emilia-Romagna region and, with Bologna just 30 minutes away, it is the perfect place to enjoy the regions many splendors. Too numerous to mention, these splendors include the Renaissance and Romanesque cities of Parma, Modena and Ferrara. Often called the ‘breadbasket' of Italy, Emilia-Romagna is a food lover’s paradise, known for its expertly-made pastas, carefully cured meats and cheeses, balsamic vinegar and more. (Then, of course, there is also the wine…)

Palazzo di Varignana is set on a 75-acre estate enveloped by botanical gardens, farmland, vineyards, and olive trees. The property has 155 elegant rooms and suites that are filled with bright natural light, precious handcrafted materials and stylish contemporary furnishings. For larger families, for groups or for those looking for more privacy, there are also 6 new villas that range from 4 to 6 rooms.

With multiple swimming pools, panoramic terraces, tennis, paddle and squash courts, a driving range and a putting green, there are many activities to choose from at Palazzo di Varignana. There is also a significant focus on wellness at the estate, with the impressive Varsana SPA offering personalized treatments and comprehensive facilities, including an extensive medical center, a hammam, sensory showers, a bio-sauna, a Finnish sauna, a steam bath, an ice waterfall and a Kneipp circuit. Additionally, wellness trails on site allow guests to explore the estate by bike or foot.

Palazzo di Varignana’s farm was founded in 2015 and since then, the property’s 3 restaurants (Aurevo, Trattoria Le Marzoline and Il Grifone) have offered delicious farm to table cuisine. With products like their olive oil and jams available for sale, guests can also bring a taste of the estate home with them.

We are so excited to continue sharing more information with you about the charming Palazzo di Varignana going forward. In the meantime, feel free to peruse their website here or, as always, you can come to us with any questions or inquiries you may have.

Thank you for your support!
